World Clock Deluxe displays wrong times

If your clocks display wrong times, your system time zone may be incorrectly set.

To correctly set your system time zone and clock on macOS 13 or later:

  1. Open System Settings, click General, then click Date & Time.

  2. Type your city in the "Closest city" text field and press Return. If your city is not available, type a city in your time zone, then choose your closest city from the pull-down menu.

  3. If you don't use a network time server to automatically set the date and time, adjust your computer's time.

To correctly set your system time zone and clock on macOS 12 or earlier:

  1. Open System Preferences, then click Date & Time.

  2. Click the Time Zone tab, click your part of the world on the map, and choose your closest city from the pull-down menu.

  3. If you don't use a network time server to automatically set the date and time, click the Date & Time tab and adjust your computer's time.

If your computer's time zone and clock are both correct but some of your clocks display wrong times, you should check each of them and, if they are showing an alternate text, verify that the associated city or time zone is correct.

To verify a clock showing an alternate text:

  1. Choose Pane > Clocks.

  2. Double-click the clock in the list or select it and choose Edit Clock from the Action pop-up menu (looks like a gear) at the bottom of the list.

  3. If the "Alternate text" field isn't empty, make sure that the city or time zone selected in the list is correct.
