Use Copy Special commands

When copying the result of a conversion, you can include the name, the ISO code, or the symbol of the selected currency.

To include the currency name, ISO code, or symbol when copying the result of a conversion:

  1. Select the display containing the amount you want to copy.

  2. To include thousands separators in your copy, choose Edit > Copy Thousands Separators.

  3. Choose Edit > Copy Special, and then choose an option. You can copy amount and currency name, amount and ISO code, amount and symbol, ISO code and amount, or symbol and amount.

You can also create custom Copy Special commands to quickly copy frequently used text snippets containing conversion results and currency names, ISO codes, or symbols.

To add a new Copy Special command:

  1. Choose Edit > Copy Special > Edit.

  2. In the Copy Special pane of Currency Assistant Settings (macOS 13 or later) or Currency Assistant Preferences (macOS 12 or earlier), click the New Command button.

  3. Type a name for the new command.

  4. Specify a format by using the format specifier buttons and by typing text in the Format field.

  5. Click OK to close the dialog and add the command.

  6. If you want to move the new command to a different position in the Copy Special submenu, drag it in the list.
