When previews are enabled, the Special menu lets you quickly show files in the Finder and copy, move, or trash them.

To show, copy, move, or trash a file:

  • To show a file in the Finder, select it in the Special menu and choose Show in Finder.

  • To copy a file to another folder or disk, select it in the Special menu and choose “Copy to”. Browse and select the destination folder or disk and click Copy.

  • To copy a file to the desktop, select it in the Special menu, hold down the Control key, and choose Copy to Desktop.

  • To move a file to a folder or disk, select it in the Special menu and choose “Move to”. Browse and select the destination folder or disk and click Move.

  • To move a file to the Trash, select it in the Special menu, hold down the Control key, and choose Move to Trash.

Important: To copy or move files, make sure that Application Wizard can control the Finder using AppleEvents. On macOS 13 or later, open System Settings, click Privacy & Security in the sidebar, click Automation, locate Application Wizard in the list, and make sure the Finder switch is on. On macOS 12 or 11, open System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click Privacy, select Automation in the list on the left, locate Application Wizard in the list on the right, and select the checkbox next to Finder.
