Rates update preferences

The Currency Assistant rates update preferences let you specify how exchange rates are updated and if and when they should be updated at startup. To edit these preferences, choose Currency Assistant > Preferences and click the Rates Update button in the toolbar.

Try other sources if rate is not available on favorite web site Select this checkbox to have Currency Assistant automatically look for rates on the other web sites if they are temporarily unavailable on the source selected in the Currencies window. You can drag sources in the associated list to change the order in which Currency Assistant tries them.
Update rates at startup Use this pop-up menu to set whether Currency Assistant should automatically update exchange rates when it is opened. If you decide to update rates at startup, you can choose whether updating them always, once a day, or once a week.
After updating rates at startup Use this pop-up menu to specify what Currency Assistant should do after rates have been updated at startup. You can set Currency Assistant to simply close the Updating Rates progress dialog and do nothing, or show an alert to report any errors, or open the Log window so that you can examine the update's log.
Web proxy (HTTP) Currency Assistant uses the web proxy settings in the Network pane of System Preferences when updating rates over the Internet. Click the Change Settings button to quickly open the Network pane of System Preferences and edit your web proxy settings.
