Currency Assistant lets you specify the currency in terms of which rates are expressed in your converters' bottom bar. To change the base currency, choose File > Currencies and open the Currencies window. Select a new base currency and click the Set Base Currency button in the toolbar. Specify how you wish to quote rates. Select the "Always quote rates against base currency" option if you want rates to be always calculated against the base currency, even when they refer to currencies which are stronger than the base currency. Select the "Quote rates against stronger currency" option if you want to display rates which are always greater than the unit. The first option is best suited for high-value currencies (euro, US dollar, pound sterling, ... ), while the second option should be chosen if your base currency is a low-value currency (South Korean won, Colombian peso, Indonesian rupiah, ... ). Click OK to set the new base currency. The base currency is highlighted with a blue background in the Currencies window.
To quickly locate it in the list, you can click the Search field in the toolbar, choose "All Currencies" from the Search field pop-up menu, and type "base currency".
