In single application mode inactive applications are automatically hidden, so that only the foreground application is visible. To turn on single application mode, open the Application Wizard pane in System Preferences, click the Menus tab and select the Turn on single application mode checkbox. If you often need to turn single application mode on and off, select the Toggle single application mode from the Switch menu checkbox in the Menus pane to add the Turn Single Application Mode On/Off command to the Switch menu and use it to quickly toggle single application mode. By default, Application Wizard automatically shows all open applications when you turn single application mode off. If you prefer to keep inactive applications hidden, deselect the Show all when turning single application mode off checkbox in the Menus pane. If you want to prevent an application from being hidden in single application mode, open the Application Wizard pane in System Preferences and click the Applications tab. Add the application to the list, select the Do not hide in single application mode checkbox in the displayed dialog and click OK. Note that Application Wizard doesn't display groups in the Switch menu when single application mode is turned on.
