Applications settings

The Applications pane of Application Wizard Settings (macOS 13 or later) or Application Wizard Preferences (macOS 12 or 11) lets you customize the behavior of applications. You can for instance force a Universal application to open using Rosetta or prevent an application from hiding in single application mode.

Applications list

Customized applications are listed.

When info tags are visible, you can view custom applications’ options and paths by moving the pointer over application names.

Add (+)

Click to add a new application to the list.

Remove (-)

Click to remove the selected application(s) from the list.

Change Application

In the Action pop-up menu, choose to replace the selected application.

Do not activate at launch

Select if you want the application not to become active when you open it.

Hide application at launch

Select if you want to automatically hide the application when you open it.

Hide other applications at launch

Select if you want to automatically hide the other applications when you open the application.

Do not hide on Hide Others

Select if you want to keep the application visible when you choose Hide Others from the Switch menu.

Do not hide in single application mode

Select if you want to keep the application always visible in single application mode.

Do not add to Recent Items

Select if you want the application not to appear in the Recent Items submenu of the Apple menu.

Do not add to Recent Applications

Select if you want the application not to appear in the Recent Applications submenu of the Open menu.

Open using Rosetta

Select if the application is Universal and you want to force it to run using Rosetta on an Apple Silicon Mac.
