Disabling previews for specific file types

Application Wizard lets you disable the preview of specific types of files in the Special menu. You can for instance decide not to preview flash videos or Matroska files if they take too long to open.

To disable previews for specific file types:

  1. Open the Application Wizard pane in System Preferences and click Menus.

  2. Click the Customize Menus button. In the dialog that appears, click Special.

  3. Click the Customize Previews button and select the "Do not preview files with extension" checkbox.

  4. Enter the extensions of the files you do not want to preview. Separate extensions with a space and do not include the leading dot.
