Using the Applications panel

You can use the Applications panel to quickly populate groups, add custom applications, disable window restoration for specific applications, and exclude applications from the Quit and Switch menus.

To show the Applications panel:

  • If you are populationg groups, choose "Show Applications Panel" from the Action pop-up menu (looks like a gear) at the bottom of the list in the Groups pane.

  • If you are customizing applications, choose "Show Applications Panel" from the Action pop-up menu at the bottom of the list in the Applications pane.

  • If you are disabling or enabling window restoration for specific applications, choose "Show Applications Panel" from the Action pop-up menu at the bottom of the list in the Resume pane.

  • If you are excluding applications from the Quit or Switch menu, choose "Show Applications Panel" from the Action pop-up menu at the bottom of the excluded applications list in the Customize Menus dialog.

The Applications panel lists running applications, recent applications, Dock applications, and applications located in your Applications folders.

To add an application to the groups, custom applications, resume, or excluded applications list:

Drag the application from the Applications panel to the list.

You can change the depth of a folder by using the Depth pop-up menu and you can view paths by choosing "Show Info Tags" from the Action pop-up menu at the bottom of the list and moving the pointer over application names. Finally, you can show applications in the Finder by double-clicking them in the Applications panel.

The Applications panel automatically updates running and recent applications. To update the other lists, choose "Synchronize List" from the Action pop-up menu.
