The Sacred Medicine Sanctuary line of herbal products began as an effort to re-create the most promising of the historic remedies described in the book Cancer Salves: A Botanical Approach to Treatment. Little by little, additional formulas were added in response to specific needs and practitioner requests.

Elixirs are herbal tonics that are sweetened in order to (1) mask the taste of herbs containing bitter alkaloids herbs or (2) promote assimilation of the herbs into the blood stream.  My experience with elixirs is that they work better than the identical herbs prepared as capsules, tablets, teas, or alcohol extracts.   Therefore, I consider the elixirs to be the cornerstones of our product line and intelligent conceived strategies for wellness. To avoid refined sugar, our elixirs are made with honey or molasses.

The two main elixirs are Seneca (Compound Syrup Scrophularia) and Sundance (our version of a Hoxsey tonic.)  In addition, there are several other blood building and digestive tonics.

Sacred Medicine Sanctuary offers about a dozen different blends of herbs ranging from historic re-creations, such as Algonquin Drops (what Dr. Eli Jones referred to as "Cancer Drops") to Ingrid's lymphatic stimulating and immune enhancing Indigo Drops to ParaPro, the combination of three formulas for parasite cleansing.

We normally stock about a dozen different herbs that can be used to augment treatment.  These are stocked in 2 oz. bottles but can be supplied in any size or quantity.  Over 150 herbs are available for special orders as small as six bottles per order.

Sacred Medicine Sanctuary has never produced an escharotic salve containing zinc chloride.  There are two reasons:  (1) a promise made to those who assisted the research for the book that divulging recipes would not become a source of competition, and (2) almost insurmountable challenges that would likely ensue if authoring a book and then selling the product described.  This said, every effort has been made to assist anyone else prepared to take on the clinical and legal challenges.

We do offer some adjunctive and preparatory ointments, around 10 different ones, ranging from salves that can be rubbed into swollen lymph nodes to base ointments that can be custom blended by practitioners to achieve the desired strength.  There is also an anti-scarring creme called Feathered Turtle.

Herbal Bolus Powder

These suppositories can be used vaginally or rectally to detoxify the reproductive and eliminatory systems. They are based on the formula of Dr. John Christopher and need to be mixed with coconut butter.

Poultice Powder

This is a combination of herbs—that can vary—that is applied directly to suppurating wounds. Whenever there is discharge, poultices can be applied to absorb and disinfect the site.

The two primary teas produced for Sacred Medicine Sanctuary are from Ingrid's formula for lymphatic drainage, both based on cleavers in combination with carminative herbs such as ginger and galangal, cardamon pods, cloves, and black peppercorns. These produce a pH balanced brew that relieves stomach and intestinal gases, promote assimilation, and stimulate lymph flow.

Boldo and pipsissewa as well as yarrow and a number of other teas are also offered.

Fomentations

Coptis

This is a Chinese herb high in berberines. When made as a strong tea and refrigerated, it makes an excellent wash to relieve itching.

Pipsissewa

This is a Native American treatment for ulcerated sores. It is also made as a strong decoction. A clean cloth is saturated with the liquid and applied direction to the wound. It could cause scarring unless follow up treatment is careful.

Sacred Medicine Sanctuary carries a wide range of therapeutic grade essential oils, all produced by known distillers. All plant material is from organically grown or wildcrafted sources. We respect the need for sustainable agricultural practices and support the farmers and distillers who share our environmental ethics. New oils are being constantly added.

Sacred Medicine Sanctuary is completely committed to quality and sustainability. We want our products to be the best available. We take great care to source ingredients carefully when the herbs are at peak vitality. Many formulas are made with herbs fresh from the gardens operated by the various laboratories that produce for us. Whenever possible, we use organic or consciously wildcrafted herbs. We use organic grain alcohol in the tinctures and make every effort to avoid plants that were sprayed or contaminated by genetically modified species.

Beyond this, no claims for the efficacy is claimed or implied by the producers or providers of the products. It is the responsibility of the user to determine the suitability of the products for individual patients.
